Te Kōpāpā – Workplace Te Reo Māori 3
Further develop your proficiency in te reo Māori me ōna tikanga and acquire an appreciation for the language and its grammar.

Course overview
Building on content learned in Te Tauteka-Workplace Te Reo Māori 2, this course will further develop your proficiency in te reo Māori me ōna tikanga in a supportive and constructive environment. You will acquire an appreciation for the language and a greater understanding of its grammar. The course is designed to develop your confidence and your ability to use te reo correctly in different contexts.
This interactive course is delivered through two-hour sessions, held weekly over ten weeks. Learning activities focus on extending your listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in te reo Māori. You are expected to complete a minimum of 20 hours self-directed learning over the 10-week period.

What you'll learn
- Increase confidence in your oral and spoken language proficiencies.
- Confidently discuss and write about a range of topics in te reo Māori.
- Utilise formal and informal structures.
- Construct a short kōrero tuari (presentation) on a selected topic using vocabulary and sentence structures learned in the course.

- Titiro whakamua
- Rere mahi
- Comparisons and similarities
- Rere āhua – statives
- ‘When’
- Rere riro N-/M-
- Rerenga tūhonohono
- He aha te utu mō te…? Kia hia?
- Whakaharatau – practice
- Aromatawai – kauhau (short presentation)
Further Information
Format
This course is delivered over 10 weeks, either at our Wellington venue or online. It includes a mix of facilitator-led sessions, small-group exercises, and whole-group discussion. Group size is limited to 16 participants to ensure meaningful interaction and personal feedback.
