Course overview
Designed for secondary teachers who are teaching mathematics outside their specialist subject area, this course will give you practical knowledge, tools and approaches you can apply directly in the classroom.
Over one school term, you will strengthen your understanding of mathematics teaching and learning, including:
- effective, evidence-based approaches to mathematics teaching
- practical strategies to support quality learning in the classroom
- key mathematics content and concepts
- approaches to assessment that can be adapted to your learners and teaching context.
The course is designed to fit around your teaching commitments and combines flexible online learning with opportunities to connect, discuss and learn with other teachers.
Course format
Online over one school term, including:
- engaging, self-paced online modules
- three 1.5-hour interactive webinars, held outside school hours
- practical learning that can be applied directly to your teaching.
