Course overview

Embark on a transformative journey with our wānanga-style programme. Designed to enhance your leadership knowledge, awareness and skills, this course offers increased leadership self-awareness,  collective accountability and radical transformative action.

Here’s what you can expect:

Format:

  • Online Zoom Sessions: Meet for two hours every fortnight OR
  • 2-day In-person Wānanga
  • Six Whare (Houses of Learning): Focus on distinct development areas to enrich your leadership.
  • Coaching/mentoring included throughout the course

What You’ll Gain:

  • Personal Leadership Plan: Craft, define, and refine with expert guidance.
  • Real-Time Support:  in the moment guidance and support to stay on track and/or  overcome challenges.

1. Whare Topito: Discovering Your Purpose.

  • Cultivating self-awareness of your gifts and talents.

2. Whare Manawa: Nurturing Your Values and Experiences.

  • Developing and refining your talents, values, and past experiences.

3. Whare Whatumanawa: Human Interaction & Empathetic Leadership.

  • Exploring strategies for effective human interaction and fostering empathetic leadership.

4. Whare Waha: Empowering Confident Communication in Leadership.

  • Enhancing communication skills to empower confident leadership.

5. Whare Hinengaro: Mastering Our Mindset.

  • Embracing a growth mindset and personal strategies to overcome challenges and seize learning and development opportunities.

6. Whare Tangata: Embracing the Enduring Power of Mana Wāhine.

  • Recognising and celebrating the strength and strategic influence of Mana Wāhine.

7. Toka Tū Hine Matarau: My Leadership Stand (Presentation) and Celebration.

  • Presenting and celebrating your leadership stance and achievements.

Further Information

Format

An interactive 2-hour online workshop delivered fortnightly over 12 weeks OR a 2-day in-person wānanga. Participants are expected to actively engage with the group.

Mentoring is included through the duration of the course.

Workload

12 hours collective contact time (in total)

Each fortnight between 10 – 12pm Wednesday; and

2 hours each fortnight for Mentor support hours; and

2 hours self-directed workbook prep and reflection time

OR

2-day in-person wānanga

Assessment

Formal Leadership Presentation – Presenting your Hine Matarau Leadership Plan at session 6 online or day 2 wānanga

Informal – Leadership Transformation Progress Snapshot (at session 3 online or end of day 1 wānanga).

Active participation and engagement through the weeks.
