
Taylor Hill
Taylor Hill is the National AWHI Lead and Senior Partnerships Advisor for the New Zealand Police. Her expertise lies in restorative justice and conflict resolution, and she has been part of over 300 restorative justice meetings. Taylor’s work supports initiatives that reduce reoffending and promote positive community outcomes, incorporating Māori values and principles.
Originally from Bluff, Taylor is of Ngāi Tahu, Te Whakatōhea, and Ngāti Ruanui descent. She has resided in Wellington for the past 18 months, where she continues her work in restorative practices. Previously, Taylor served as the Southland Coordinator for Te Pae Oranga, a program aimed at supporting individuals to stay out of the criminal justice system.
Taylor has recently completed her thesis on the New Zealand Police Māori strategy, Te Huringa O te Tai, and has begun delivering the Wall Walk program to police recruits and leaders, emphasising cultural understanding and responsiveness within policing. In addition to her professional work, Taylor holds a Master of Applied Management, a Bachelor of Commerce in Management and Marketing, a Certificate in Social Services, and a Diploma in Whanau Ora
Her facilitation style is professional, efficient, and informed by years of experience in restorative justice and conflict resolution, making her a key advocate for positive, sustainable change in both communities and organisations.
