Simone Bull

Of Ngāti Porou and Geordie descent, Dr Simone Bull (aka Sim) is a recovering academic and public servant. Before a policy career in Māori Affairs, she taught University students, wrote journal articles, chapters in textbooks and co-authored a book. Her pracademic leanings found a new outlet in New Zealand Police, where she worked in many different areas – from Policy to Road Policing to District Operations. Before leaving the public service, Sim had a brief stint in Service Delivery at the Ministry of Social Development. During COVID she left her ‘day job’ to start her own business, which just goes to show that having a PhD is no guarantee of intelligence! That business is known as “The Wall Walk”, a half-day interactive workshop on the history of Māori-Crown relations.
