Michelle originally did her Master’s degree at San Diego State University and her fellowship as a Speech Therapist across all ages in a private practise. She completed her PhD in 2015 looking at Communicative Acts in Children with Autism. She has worked at the NZ Ministry of Education, Hutt Valley District Health Board, Capital Coast District Health Board and Explore Specialist Advice. She currently works for Victoria University’s Autism Clinic providing clinic-based speech therapy for children as well as Autism New Zealand as part of the Autism Diagnostic Service. Michelle’s experience includes communication intervention for all ages, adult and paediatric feeding/swallowing, multidisciplinary assessment for autism, behaviour support, and training and development. Her passion has always been working with autistic people and sharing her experiences with others to promote autism awareness.
