Madeleine Parker

Madeleine Parker is a Lecturer in the School of Government with a focus on urban policy, at the intersection of housing, transport, infrastructure, and land use. Her research uses quantitative and mixed methods to examine policies that can make cities more affordable, accessible, and resilient.

Madeleine has an undergraduate degree in Geography with High Honors from Dartmouth College, a Master in Public Affairs from Princeton University, and a PhD in City and Regional Planning from the University of California, Berkeley. She has experience working in local and federal government in the United States, as well as consulting with the World Bank and the nonprofit sector. She was a Presidential Management Fellow at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and served as a Deputy Director for Resilience at the White House Council on Environmental Quality in 2024.
