Jane Bryson

Jane joined the academic staff at Victoria University of Wellington in 1999, having previously worked as a Human Resources Manager in the public sector, and as a management consultant in New Zealand, Australia and Great Britain. 

Jane’s career and research converge on one overarching concern: how can we facilitate the achievement of human capability through work? Her research focuses on the investigation of human resource management practices in the context of work and society, taking a multi-disciplinary perspective on people at work and Bthe operationalisation of Sen’s capability approach to examine aspirations and influences on workers.
