Marie Cocker

Marie Cocker (Te Atiawa, Ngati Mutunga) is the Poutaki Māori at Kāpuhipuhi Wellington Uni Professional, where she manages the suite of Māori programmes and is committed to supporting organisations, public sector, and NGO’s to increase their Māori cultural capability throughout their workplace.
Previously, Marie held the positions of Manutaki (Director) of Te Herenga Waka marae and Āwhina, at Victoria University of Wellington where her focus was to work with faculties to increase Māori student retention and achievement rates pan-university. Marie’s experience extends to teaching Māori Business, Treaty and Tikanga and working with Māori communities teaching entrepreneurship.
Marie completed her degree at Victoria University as an adult student in commercial Law and Māori business and went on to complete her Masters of Indigenous studies at the University of Otago.
