Jane is the current Chair in Restorative Justice at Te Herenga Waka Victoria University of Wellington New Zealand and has 25 years of teaching restorative justice in a university setting and researching justice innovations. While her primary job is research focused (what works, and why, in Restorative Justice?), she is a trained mediator and restorative justice practitioner. She is the co-founder of an Australian based community organisation providing victim survivor focused restorative justice after sexual violence.
Jane sits on the Global Advisory Council to Restorative Justice International and is on the Editorial Board for the International Journal of Restorative Justice. She leads Te Ngāpara Centre for Restorative Practice which is attached to the School of Government but funded by the public sector (working to bridge the town and gown divide). Within that role she supervises lots of PhD candidates exploring restorative justice. She loves teaching, being in the classroom and talking all things Restorative Justice.
