Karen Poutasi

Dame Dr Karen Poutasi brings her significant experience from a career in the public service to lead the governance of Kāpuhipuhi Wellington Uni-Professional.

Her current governance roles also include board membership of Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand, Chair of Taumata Arowai, and Deputy Chair of Network for Learning.

Her most recent executive roles were as Chief Executive of the New Zealand Qualifications Authority which led the development the New Zealand framework for Micro-credentials, and prior, as Director General of Health. 

Karen was appointed a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2006 and promoted to Dame Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2020.

She believes Kāpuhipuhi Wellington Uni-Professional is superbly well placed to work with both organisational and individual clients to design and deliver professional development modules relevant to ever evolving need
