Lisa Patterson

Lisa is passionate about safeguarding sensitive information in our current digital world. Experienced in cybersecurity and privacy, and with a background in corporate financial services and small business ownership, Lisa has a diverse skillset allowing a unique perspective on the importance of privacy and cybersecurity in protecting sensitive data.

Lisa is excited to be presenting the Cybersecurity Essentials and Privacy in the Public Sector micro-credentials for Kāpuhipuhi Wellington Uni-Professional. At Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington, Lisa also lectures courses for engineering and computer science students in Cybersecurity Fundamentals; Governance, Risk and Compliance; and Cybercrime Investigations.

Currently, Lisa is nearing completion of her PhD, where she is investigating Data Privacy and Security behaviours to propose effective interventions for home user cybersecurity. It is her hope that the findings from her thesis have a meaningful impact on privacy and cybersecurity practices in Aotearoa NZ.

Outside of work and study, Lisa enjoys spending quality time with whānau and friends. She also loves to travel, exploring new cultures and different perspectives.
