Martin Wikaira is a well-known iwi leader who specialises in leading diverse teams with complex settings, which rely on excellent communication and relationship skills between Iwi groups and organisations, Crown and Māori .
Martin offers first-hand experience in leading confidently in both the Te Ao Māori and Te Ao Pakeha spaces, he strategically places a ‘tirohanga Māori lens’ across all the work he is involved in.
Martins’ wealth of experience includes working with Iwi, hapū and whānau, Crown sector and orgnisations and at national and international levels, including indigenous matters, trade negotiation issues and Māori business growth and development opportunities,
Martin’s engagement network across Aotearoa New Zealand and around the world is extensive.He is the Owner Director of Ohorere Consultancy. The consultancy focuses on guiding and driving Māori kaupapa across the Crown estate, seeking new opportunities for Iwi/Māori businesses country wide and around the world. and aligning with the many interest areas that are and will affect both Māori and the rest of New Zealand. His vast experiences both within the Crown and Māori worlds enables him to engage in, support and drive kaupapa Māori in a more fluid and strategic way across many genres whilst contributing to the future of Māori /Iwi growth in a world that is dynamic, exciting, and forever changing.
