New Zealanders wanting to move into a career in the rapidly growing and vital cybersecurity sector
now have a launching point. Developed in partnership with Te Herenga WakaVictoria University of
Wellington and leading industry experts the Cybersecurity Essentials micro-credential provides
participants with a practical introduction to cybersecurity threats and challenges and their
mitigations and controls.
Being industry-led the Cybersecurity Essentials micro-credential will play an important part in
addressing the demand for cybersecurity talent. This course was developed in partnership with cisco
– one of the world’s largest and most respected cybersecurity companies – and aligns with their
Networking Academy which has trained over 34,000 students in New Zealand alone.
To complete the micro-credential takes 50 hours of self-paced online study over seven weeks.
Our first cohort gets underway on 14 February. To find out more click here.
